| Continue?
It is 10 Volumes later and SPOILERS!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . THE EMPEROR OF JAPAN WASHIZU LORD OF MAHJONG HELL IS DEAD!
Akagi now has more money then he could possibly spend and at this point so does FKMT (probably)
But will it continue? Personally I say yes because he still has to meet and befriend three minor characters from Ten.
What do you think? | |

| I recently read the latest chapters in the magazine publications, and I have to say, contrary to what I was talking about with you before, I don't think Washizu is really dead quite yet. - Spoiler:
The last few chapters have consisted of an ongoing metaphor wherein Washizu is a damned soul in Hell, but is doing everything in his power to escape, and is in fact succeeding through sheer force of will. This leads me to believe that this supposed death is in fact similar to Akagi's "Death" in Volume 14 and the one again in Volume 23; he's lost enough blood to reasonably kill him, but is going to live on by forcing himself to. If that's the case, I expect a South 4th Round of epic proportions wherein Washizu will be on the very top of his game, totally in touch with his luck, and unable to be bluffed. Here's hoping for another 5 volumes of the Washizu Arc.
That aside, once the Washizu arc ends, I do think it will keep going. Like you said, there's lots of room to expand on the story, and more than that, Akagi is THE reason Kindai Mahjong is so popular; Fukumoto earns tons of money just by continuing it, so I don't see why he would want to end it.

| Yeah it has taken a VERY WEIRD TURN, but I'm going to choose to be /optimistic/ and say that Washizu won't live through it, if only to be contrary or maybe I just want it to be over so bad
it's pretty much up in the air at the moment

it's pretty much up in the air at the moment But man, just IMAGINE how epic it would be if Washizu came back stronger than we've ever seen him before. I was actually kind of disappointed about the South 3rd Round, it just didn't feel like the final round by any means. If the South 4th Round was an epic struggle where Akagi barely survives, I think it'd make the Washizu arc so much better. I get that people don't like how stretched out it is, but I find that makes it all the more epic. It's amazing to read when you're sitting down with several volumes at once.

| - Spoiler:
Oh god no what if he gets the demons on his side and then comes back to life with the actual legit forces of hell at his behest, shiiiiiiiit
Akagi has barely survived though he's only got 100ccs left of his emergency blood, dang how far you wanna push him?? Though I confess it's kind of weird how in vol 24/5 he's barely able to stand without assistance but gets up on the table and stomps Washizu-- sheer power of will ???
Argh some wacked out hallucination sequences on Akagi's part would be A+++++ though so I'm demanding neon colours and White Rabbit

| I wish the Washizu arc would get wrapped up and have Akagi have one last showdown in his top form as an epic finale where we maybe learn more about Akagi's mindset. I really enjoyed the Urabe post-game analysis he did for example. | |

| I'd be pretty disappointed if some of the questions left over from from Ten didn't get answered

| Yes and it's still Washizu in hell as it's been for the last year, except now he's like a giant or something | |
